Smoother journeys and better patient experiences
The Map provides a structured and standardised information and referral process by which GPs know what surgeons and the entire secondary care musculo-skeletal team want prior to referral. A structured referral system stops patients going round in circles, bouncing between departments or back to their GPs (and adding to their workloads). It makes their journeys smoother and helps achieve waiting time targets.
