Training for early adopters

One of the key features of the Map is the ability for PCTs or Trusts to add their own procedural, administrative and best practice information to each patient journey, adapting it to local healthcare needs. A number of case studies from early adopter sites were presented at a Training Day held on the 5th September in London.

New BT Health and NHS London investment in the Map

The Map of Medicine’s 387 patient care pathways will soon be available to all NHS staff in England and Wales following the agreement reached for the London area with BT Health.

For the first time all NHS staff such as doctors, nurses, midwives, allied health professionals, healthcare scientists and trust managers will have access to a single view of the best clinical information and latest guidelines relevant to a patient’s pathway and approved by NHS experts. Read more

This new website provides patients with access to reliable clinical information and can improve patient understanding of medical problems and treatment options.

In partnership with the NHS National Library for Health the Map of Medicine provides an information resource that visually organises the latest evidence and best practice guidelines into 387 patient pathways.

Each patient pathway is referenced, peer-reviewed and approved by NHS health experts. Read more
