Recently, 100 senior hospital doctors in England & Wales were interviewed to find out which one of four key benefits they would find most useful about the Map of Medicine.

The chart above outlines the results of these interviews. The doctors were asked to rate the benefits in the chart in relation to their usefulness.

The results indicated that the Map as a knowledge resource for training teams was the most highly rated benefit.

The guidelines, references and clinical information relevant to consideration of alternative treatment options, together with the ability of the Map to be customised to contain local or personal notes was also important.

Interviews with GP trainers will shortly report on the level of interest in printing pathways from the Map together with personal notes for trainees. If you are a clinician interested in using the Map as a knowledge resource for training and work in:

  • London teaching hospitals
  • Orthopaedic surgery
  • The Newborn Infant Hearing Screening Programme
